Night Is Approaching When No One Can Work

“I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work." John 9:4 Surely the night is coming when we will not be able to work. The resistance to all things Godly is everywhere now, even in our own beloved country. Surely we're living in those "perilous" times: "But know this, that IN THE LAST DAYS perilous times will come." 2nd Timothy 3:1 The word "perilous" is the Greek “chalepos” and can be translated "hard to bear, fierce, savage, insane." It foretells the savagery that will characterize the last days - and we see this sign of the "last days" literally happening before our eyes. For the believer in Jesus Christ, these days are becoming more and more hard to bear, more and more fierce, more and more savage, as what we see before us is hard to believe, a developing insanity, a society given over to delusion. (2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12) Believers recognize the pattern of what's happening in society, and God has raised up many men as "watchers on the wall" bringing to us the message that those perilous times indeed are at the door. Freedom of speech is being taken from us, and soon we will be forbidden from speaking the Word of God. The world we live in has always hated truth, but the time we're living in now is something different from all previous times, because Satan knows his hour is approaching when he will take over the entire world through the much-prophesied global leader called the Antichrist. "Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” Revelation 12:12 We see the development of all things that are leading toward the global government and the global, "ecumenical" religion. There have been signs in the heavens heralding these things which are nearly upon us. Many have forgotten the blood moon tetrads along with the two total solar eclipses at that time. Because that time is behind us now, they conclude that that was just some kind of hysteria. Nothing could be further from the truth. God himself put those signs before us to warn us of what's coming, to signal believers to take heed; and to make it very clear that this was his doing, his warning, those blood moons each fell on Biblical feast days, and only on Biblical feast days, there were no others. Then there was the "great sign" of Revelation 12 in the constellations heralding the beginning of “the great Tribulation," and it is absolutely amazing how every detail of the "last days" prophecies is coming into exact alignment. "For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people;" Isaiah 60:2 Yet we are commissioned to continue warning, for the sake of the one or two who will heed the warning and come to the Lord. However ...as we've seen since the last-days warnings have gone out ...most refuse our words and laugh us to scorn. “Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not heed you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you." Jeremiah 7:27 What does that mean for the believer? It means that we truly don't have much time to finish the work God has purposed each of us to do while there is yet time – because truly, the night is coming “when no one can work." This is perhaps the most crucial time in all of history, as we reach out in that final effort to reach the lost and to shake up the back-slidden before "the night" comes. Brothers and sisters, work like you've never worked before, pray as you've never prayed before. Include fasting as part of the work, for fasting breaks yokes of bondage holding people in wickedness. "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?" Isaiah 58:6 This is a clarion call to every believer who is watching and understanding the times. Get to work! God has especially raised you up to serve him in this final generation. He has assigned to you the position he has chosen for you and he has positioned you for the work you are to do. Take it very seriously, do not slack off, the implications are eternal and the time is short. "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision, for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision." Joel 3:14
