What Should Have Been - What Could Have Been

"...as for me, I trust in you, O Lord; I say, 'you are my God, MY TIMES ...are in your hand;'" Psalm 31:14-15 Before you were ever born, the Lord set up the plan for your life. "Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them." Psalm 139:16 Understanding this will enable you to wait on the Lord contentedly, knowing there is a time for everything the Lord planned before you ever were. "To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh..." Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 It is the magnificence of God to be able to set such a plan for every person on the earth, indeed, he knows the very number of hairs on your head. Therefore how important it is to have a heart of total surrender before him, so that that plan may be worked out perfectly, because the will of God is not carried out automatically. There are many, perhaps even most, who insist on having their way and developing their own plan for their lives. Therefore they miss what should have been, what could have been, what would have been, had they chosen to abide in the will of God. For those who believe, God has fashioned the perfect story, he has ordered every ingredient in their lives, because they have submitted to his will. He has created each personality, he has placed within every gift and talent, and he has fitted his plan for each one - wholly unique to the way he has created them. Some of the ingredients will be painful, because God knows what is needed in the life and personality of each one to bring them to the finished work that is the goal of his personal plan for them. It's your choice. If you place your confidence in your own wisdom, if you think you can better work out what you want in life, then you're free to pursue it your way. But on the day you stand before him, he will show you what should have been, what could have been, what would have been, had you surrendered to his will for your life. The believer walks intimately with the Lord, trusting every move, every story in their lives whether it makes sense or not, and usually it won't until later. They have been convinced of the integrity of God, and walk with him as an adventure. For those who refuse, they’re not truly on their own - Satan also ...has a plan for their lives. But for those who followed the Lord with all their hearts, he will look at them with joy at what he accomplished in them. He will smile with delight as he welcomes them into his Kingdom and he will say: "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord." Matthew 25:21 And they will enter eternity with complete joy and delight, and forever praise him who led them in the satisfaction of having achieved the very purpose for which they were created. Don't miss it.
