If Wisdom Isolates You Are You Willing To Walk Alone?
"When wisdom enters your heart,
and knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
discretion will preserve you, understanding will keep you,
to deliver you from the way of evil,
from the man who speaks perverse things,
from those who leave the paths of uprightness
to walk in the ways of darkness, who rejoice in doing evil,
and delight in the perversity of the wicked;"
Proverbs 2:10-14
"When wisdom ENTERS your heart…"
We are not born with wisdom. And in the perverse world we live in, one will not obtain wisdom from it because the world IS perverse. Your counselors will tell you things you want to hear and they will sound right, but are not. Your professors will speak with an air of authority, but their authority comes from the world which opposes the wisdom of God.
"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God."
1 Corinthians 3:19
Wisdom can only enter your heart if you SEEK it from its author, the creator of the universe who alone defines it.
It's not innate, it has to be sought. It has to be asked for.
"Yes, if you CRY OUT for discernment,
and LIFT UP YOUR VOICE for understanding,
if you SEEK her as silver,
and search for her as for hidden treasures,
then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God."
Proverbs 2:3-5:
The Scriptures tell us that wisdom is directly related to "the fear of the Lord," not a popular virtue these days and certainly not politically correct. As the days advance and the time of the end draws near, the masses will abide in the philosophies of the world which are contrary to the wisdom of God. It won't be easy to remain in the "fear of the Lord," because “the wisdom of the world” will constantly push back against us, trying in every which way to overcome us. Cry out therefore for discernment, lift up your voice in prayers for true understanding, because the voices of the world will surround you calling to you loudly, attempting to draw you in. It will cause divisions in families and it will destroy friendships. You will have to let them go their way, being willing to walk alone if need be, and for many that will be the case.
vs 6-7:
"For THE LORD gives wisdom,
FROM HIS MOUTH come knowledge and understanding.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright,
he is a shield to those who walk uprightly."
SEEK knowledge and understanding from the Lord. They alone can keep you when all around you people are falling away.
