God’s Law Is Honorable

"The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will exalt the law and make it honorable." Isaiah 42:21 The Word of God tells us that when Jesus Christ returns to this earth and sets up his Kingdom, he will rule with a rod of iron (Revelation 2:27). People think that because this generation lives in the age of grace, the law has been done away with. Oh ...not so. Believers are not judged according to the law, but the unsaved are. The law has not been abolished. “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." Matthew 5:17-18 One can be certain that when Jesus reigns upon this earth from the Seat of David in Jerusalem, you can be sure no one will be murdering babies in their mothers' wombs. You can be absolutely certain that there will be no homosexual marriages, nor sodomites taking ministerial positions in the congregations. You can be sure that prisons will no longer be needed, because sin will not be tolerated, and judgment will come swiftly. This will be a time of peace like never before, because evil will be eradicated under the reign of Jesus Christ. He will rule with a rod of iron, and that will bring in the age of righteousness, peace, and great joy as all is made right. But at the present time "the whole world lies in wickedness" (1 John 5:19.) Satan currently holds authority on this poor earth (2nd Corinthians 4:4), and we see the results of that everywhere. The earth is full of violence, thievery, hatred, deception, murder, perversion, fear and anxiety, because these are the fruits of evil. The hearts of men surrender to the Satanic agenda, and the righteous suffer. "But this is a people robbed and plundered; all of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prison houses; they are for prey, and no one delivers; for plunder, and no one says, 'Restore!'” Isaiah 42:22 Little can be done at the present to change this. We can elect leaders who say they will bring justice to our nations but in the end, they are working in the world system and cannot succeed at bringing that for which we hope. No, it cannot be, not while Satan is calling the shots. vs 23: "Who among you will give ear to this?" There are two kingdoms operating upon the earth, the kingdom of God, and the kingdom of Satan whose kingdom is described in the Word of God as "spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). As long as the latter has control, there is no hope for this world. So what can we do? Jesus said to render to Caesar what is Caesar's, meaning do the right thing as you walk in the world, but keep your focus on the Kingdom of God in which you live as believers, and for which you yearn daily. It will come. Soon. It will be here. Wait for it. It will change everything!
