Who Is Jesus Christ?
Is Jesus Christ a man? Or is he God? Or both?
He had to be sinless in order to qualify to atone for us, so that in itself says that he has to be God, because only God is sinless.
But he also had to be man, because only a man could die on the cross as that atonement.
What do the Scriptures say about him? The Scriptures declare that the man Jesus Christ is Almighty God.
HE IS THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD
"For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."
Colossians 2:9
HE IS THE BLESSED GOD
"...from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came,
who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen."
Romans 9:5
HE IS GOD IN THE FLESH
"Great is the mystery of godliness:
GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH
…received up into glory."
1 Timothy 3:16
WE ARE PURCHASED WITH HIS BLOOD
"Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock,
among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers,
to shepherd the church of God
WHICH HE PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD."
Acts 20:28
JESUS CHRIST IS OUR GREAT GOD
"...looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing
of OUR GREAT GOD and Savior Jesus Christ,
who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us..."
Titus 2:13-14
THIS SON IS THE MIGHTY GOD
"For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon his shoulder.
And his name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, MIGHTY GOD,
EVERLASTING FATHER, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9: 6
HE IS FROM EVERLASTING
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,

the One to be Ruler in Israel,

from everlasting.”

THE WORD WAS GOD WHO BECAME FLESH
“In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and THE WORD WAS GOD...
And the Word BECAME FLESH and dwelt among us…”
John 1:1, 14
THOMAS RECOGNIZED HIM AS BOTH LORD AND GOD
"He said to Thomas, 'Reach your finger here, and look at my hands;
and reach your hand here, and put it into my side.
Do not be unbelieving, but believing.'”
And Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!"
