HOW Could One So Great Care About Little You?

"The Lord is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens." Who is like the Lord our God, who dwells on high..." Psalm 113:4-5 Truly ...who IS like the Lord? He reigns high above all the nations. His glory is high above all creation. I remember being in a plane 30,000 feet above the earth; when you look down, cars look like ants, and you can't see the people because they are too small to see. I remember the feeling of being outside the earth and beholding from this height the rivers and mountains, oh so small. Then I realized just how small we are, how insignificant, and wondered how the Lord could care about anything so tiny, so nearly non-existent, so insignificant as us. "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have ordained, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him?" Psalm 8:3-4 Truly, truly, what IS man that he is mindful of us? ...How? ...Why? After looking down on the earth from a tremendous height, one might begin to realize the import of this passage. What exactly IS man, that you would care about him? And most incredible, what is man that you would send your Son to suffer torture and death on his behalf? That you would care that much - it's just astonishing, it's beyond all understanding. Why, Lord? You have a universe with millions, they say even hundreds of millions of galaxies. If you eliminated this pathetic sinful dot called earth it would be no loss in the light of the myriads of other stars, planets and galaxies out there. That you would care about this one, and that you would care about mankind, that you would care about me - is beyond my ability to understand. "But I am a worm, and no man..." Psalm 22:6 Please watch the video clip at the end of this message. When you see the vastness of creation, how small our SUN is in comparison to the other stars, never-mind our earth, the thought is just overwhelming that God would care for us and go to the extent that he did to save us. When you see the vastness of creation, it will make you realize how infinitely awesome is the God who not only created it, but who keeps it together. And truly you might ask, "oh God, how awesome you are, WHY do you care about us? Why do you care about me?" I don't know why, I'll never understand why, but the fact remains ...he DOES. Our world became corrupted when sin came into it. Every descendant of fallen Adam is born in a fallen state. Yet God cared so much for the likes of us that he sent his Son to take upon himself the judgment due us because of our sins, and who died an agonizing death on our behalf. On my behalf. On your behalf. That has to blow your mind. He could have just wiped us out and forgotten about us. We would not have been missed in such a vast universe. In this video clip you'll get some idea of the greatness of the God of creation. It will put you in awe, awe that he cares so much about single little you, single little me. And then think about the multitudes who insult the atoning work of the Son of God on our behalf, the insult to the greatest work of love that has ever taken place, a love unparalleled and beyond understanding. Fall on your knees before him and confess your sin, your rebellion, your self-will, with tears of repentance and receive the work that Jesus Christ accomplished on that Cross - for YOU, and be saved. Understand to what degree you do not deserve this, but to what degree he has loved you. Surrender your life to him, accept him as your Savior, and bow before him as your Lord. You will never, ever, regret it. This is a truly wonderful presentation, the best I've ever seen:
